Part II

We have a new blog! It is called A Homespun Country Life….Part II.

I know, I know, you think that we should have made up a new name. But we want to keep blogging about the same topics that we blog about now–chickens, sewing, gardening, food, chickens, farming– so we didn’t feel like we had to make a name change. Also, to be completely honest, we ran out of data space on this blog, and right now it does not work for us to upgrade to a better plan. Hence, we bring you a second edition of A Homespun Country Life

It has been very exciting to plan and to create a new blog, and to have a new spot to write at!

We will see you over at Part II!

Valentine’s Day M&M Cookies

The perfect snack to take on a road trip is cookies. The perfect cookie for this week is pink, red, and white M&M cookies for Valentine’s Day. And we are taking a road trip soon, so yes, we need cookies!

I made cookie dough yesterday, and froze half of it for Kerstin and Gabrielle to bake up before we leave. The other half I baked up because if I made cookies and didn’t bake any up it just wouldn’t be healthy around here…

I am not going to share a recipe today since everybody has their own recipe for chocolate chip/M&M cookies. But I do want to tell you about our road trip (it really isn’t long enough to be considered a road trip though)  because Gabrielle and I will be blogging about it when we get back 🙂  We are going to Marquette, MI, to see the UP200, a sled dog race which starts in Marquette, runs to Grand Marais, and then back to Marquette.  It’ll be good to get away for a bitand to see some dog mushing!

Thank you for visiting A Homespun Country Life!

Knitted Hat

A few weeks ago, I bought this thick Lion Brand yarn with the intent of knitting a warm winter hat with it. Mom had found this really nice hat pattern on Etsy and it was fairly easy to knit too!

I had never knit on the round before so it was an exciting project. I’m planning on knitting a scarf out of the same yarn, I just have to find a pattern first! 😉
